Book by Richard Harris
Lyrics by Mary Sewart-David. Music by Denis King.
Based on the original play by Richard Harris
The station theatre welcomes the return of the award winning White Cobra with 'Stepping Out - The Musical'
Previous shows at the station theatre included the amazing 'Scaramouche Jones' and 'Glorious!'
The play 'stepping out' which was also turned into a film starring Liza Minnelli and Julie Walters and, when originally produced in London, won the Evening Standard Award for Best New Comedy.
The play features eight individuals from various backgrounds and with differing motivations who attend the same weekly tap-dancing class. Despite first treating the classes as social occasions, and showing little co-ordination, they later develop a level of skill and cohesiveness. The dance routines are the background for the focus of the play, which focuses on the relationships and interactions of different people.
The 2018 version of the show written by Richard Harris (The British TV and Film Writer) saw Amanda Holden lead a star-studded cast in a classic British story of triumph in the face of adversity.
White Cobra’s brand-new production hits the road in the Autumn of 2019 and comes to The Station Theatre in Station Road on Saturday 16th November, 7.30pm. Come and see us and get those toes tapping!
